Introduction: This document will introduce the planned ideas and features for
ColonyExistence™ online community and MMORPG/FPS. This will hopefully be the first game ever that is generated 100% by user submitted content. The basis of the community/game is on the topic of terraforming and the artificial seeding of extra-solar planets. This project will advance in milestones and will only evolve based on user interest and content submission. It will start with phase 1 which is the submission of concept art based off of guidelines mentioned below.
Phase 1: Phase 1 will evolve in 5 steps- Location in Galaxy, Star or binary star, Planets, Atmosphere, Vegetation and Living Organisms.
P1a: We will assign a random location in the Galaxy
P1b: A star and type (red giant, white dwarf, etc) will be assigned. Binary stars may rarely be assigned.
P1c: Planets – Users will submit digital concept art of planets. Accepted planets must be high definition digital images and believable based on our current understanding of the universe.
P1d: Atmosphere – After the users submitted their planets, the accepted planets will be passed to a group of people who will assign it an atmosphere based off of planet color and other features like distance from the solar systems star(s) and whether or not the planet is habitable. The planet can be assigned 5 types of habitable statuses: Habitable (muti-cellular organisms), Semi-Habitable (single-celled organisms), Hostile-Habitable (single celled Extremophiles), Uninhabitable with atmosphere (I.e Jupiter), and Uninhabitable no atmosphere (I.e Moon)
P1e: Lastly, all planets assigned “Habitable” will start to be seeded by user content with vegetation first. A detailed description of the vegetation submitted must also be included, for example whether or not it is a tropical, sub tropical, sub-arctic, arctic, or aquatic and other information such as what it eats, whats its bi product is it edible, is it rare or abundant etc. After vegetation, complex living creatures can be added using the same guidelines for “Habitable” planets. Semi-Habitable and Hostile Habitable planets will go straight to single celled organisms.
Phase 2: Phase two covers the introduction of intelligent life forms, it will evolve in 3 steps- Species Creation, Species History and Culture, and finally Arcitecture.
P2a: Species Creation- Unlike the creation of multi-cellular organism in phase 1, these species have mastered, speech, writing, and society. Only unique ideas will be accepted. They will be assigned to a random planet.
P2b: Users can submit a history for the species they submit or they can submit it and have others write it for them.
P3b: Users can submit the arcitectural design of a species, for example a nomadic species may live in mud huts where a species with a large army my live in massive cities built from rare metals or other resources.
Phase 3: Game play to be introduced later.
